About a month ago, I have sent an email to enquire about the possibility of volunteering later this year at Centre ValBio. However, as of yet I have not received a response. This way, I would like to ask again when it is a possibility for me to come and stay at the research centre.

Dear sir/madam,

During a tour of the research centre in 2018 I knew I wanted to come back someday to volunteer as a research assistant. This day has come. Therefore, I would like to enquire about the volunteering possibilities for next year. I have finished my BaSc in Applied Biology where I have done research projects in a broad range of subjects, including one in Madagascar where I fell in love with the country: 

2017: What are possible improvements on the rearing conditions of the Peelslak® Helix aspersa aspersa to gain an increase in reproductive success? 

2017-2018: The prevalence of EFA in K. alvarezzi in the Bay of Ranobe, Southwest Madagascar. 

2018:Development of two bakery products with an increased protein content for European community-dwelling senior subjects, preventing the prevalence of sarcopenia. 

However, since then I have struggled with stress-related health problems. Now I am feeling better and I would like to turn those very difficult years into something positive. I have the ambition to travel a year and afterwards to follow a master's degree in biomedical sciences, where I would want to specialise in stress-research and in the brain-body-gut- connection. I would like to work at ValBio for around 2 months as part of my travels, while gaining valuable experience as preparation for my masters. Preferably my work at Valbio would be in the field of biomedical sciences and health, but I am open for other opportunities. Examples of projects that would fit my interests from this year, found on your social media, are dr. Mónica Ramirez's work studying the stress response in Milne-Edwards sifaka's through analysing the cortisol levels in fecal samples (post 10th Dec) or the paper of Mariah Donohue's team about the variation in the lemor microbiome (post 2th June). I am available the whole year, so regarding the time frame I am very flexible.
