Absolutely no worries Hasina, I hope you are doing well! 

I'll attach the research proposal I wrote following the meeting at the start of the year. I have proposed a study on zoonosis ecology, which would include the use of existing ecological data, lemur observation, and work with the health team (I am in contact with Fleurah about this). However, the proposal is mostly just broad ideas, so I'd be happy to focus on whichever parts are the most feasible.

Amber:   From what  we have discussed last year, you  do not need to apply for a research permit unless  your project is  different from what you have said last year.  You should work with the health team  and they should inform the regional office about  your volunteering at CVB and participation   on the Health activities.

Hello Hasina, 

I've attached the research proposal for my project/internship over the summer (apologies that it's taken me a while to get it all written up since we spoke in january!). The topic of zoonotic epidemiology fits with some of the past/ongoing research at the centre (eg. Dr Thomas Gillespie). Some of the project could be done during health team expeditions, so I will email Fleurah to enquire about planned expeditions.

I'm not sure if everything I've suggested is feasible, but I'm happy to modify in any way you think would work best. We could possibly arrange another zoom meeting before the summer to discuss details. 

I plan to arrive july 5th and depart august 14th.

Today is the last day of work at CVB before two weeks of Holiday. Maybe we should meet after the holidays. Your time in January for internship is too short, so March/April would be better for you.

Its up to Hasina when she wants to meet, but I think we should respect the holidays.

research time depends also on the topic you would like to do.

I was previously in contact with Michael regarding volunteering/interning at the centre for a few weeks during January:

I'm a 3rd year undergraduate student studying medicine at the University of Cambridge, taking an intercalated degree in ecology and biological anthropology this year. I'm really interested in the intersection of environmental ecology and public health, and am currently working on a dissertation in the area. The opportunity to get involved with and learn from the integrated approach to conservation and cross-disciplinary research at Centre ValBio would hence be really exciting and valuable. 

I couldn't find any information about volunteering openings on your social media, but I'd be really enthusiastic to be a part of any of the outreach areas, though especially public health and epidemiology or field research based projects. I've also been awarded a university grant to support any travel costs/station fees etc. I look forward to hearing back!
